With a unanimous vote Tuesday night by the Rocklin City Council, Councilmember Greg Janda was appointed to serve as Mayor of the City of Rocklin through December 2020. Councilmember Jill Gayaldo was also unanimously installed as the 2020 Vice-Mayor.
“It is a tremendous honor to represent the citizens of Rocklin as mayor for 2020,” Janda said. “We are a growing city of nearly 70,000, and as leaders, we need to address the concerns of all residents in a balanced way.”
The City of Rocklin is made up of people, businesses and organizations working hard every day for the betterment of the community. To honor those giving back, the City recognizes deserving candidates with the Ruhkala Community Service Awards, which are now open for nominations.
There are a few new places to sit, relax, and take in the fresh air at the Sunset Whitney Recreation Area thanks to the donation of nine benches by the South Placer and Sunrise rotaries.
“This was a great opportunity to enhance SWRA and encourage individuals to get out, exercise, and enjoy nature,” said Ken Broadway, Rocklin City Councilmember and the President of South Placer Rotary.
