Code Enforcement

The City of Rocklin Municipal Code was established to help maintain a standard in the community for all to enjoy, and is enforced by Rocklin’s Code Compliance Officer.

The Code Enforcement Program is a citizen-based program that inspects and investigates complaints from citizens of the City of Rocklin. Upon receipt of a complaint, a Code Enforcement Officer will conduct a site visit to investigate the reported violation. After confirmation of the violation, the Code Enforcement Officer will take necessary steps to gain compliance with City Codes.

By Fax or Mail:
You can download the Report Of Ordinance Violation form and either fax the form to 916.625.5195 or mail the form to the address below.

Steps Involved In Code Enforcement

  1. A complaint is received by the City.
  2. A Code Enforcement Officer will assess and substantiate the complaint.  If the complaint is substantiated, the property owner and /or tenant will be provided with a Courtesy Notice. The intent of a courtesy notice or contact is to inform the violator of any violations and provide any information and clarification needed to remediate.

Construction Noise Guidelines

The City of Rocklin has established a noise policy on all construction projects within or near residential areas:

  • No noise on WEEKDAYS before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m.
  • No noise on WEEKENDS before 8 a.m. or after 7 p.m.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in an issuance of a Stop Work Order.

RV Parking Guidelines

The City of Rocklin has developed a proactive program for recreational vehicle parking violations. RVs, trailers, boats and campers must be stored in a garage, a commercial storage facility, or on a solid surface (on private residential property, outside of the front and street side yard setbacks). Abandoned Shopping Carts

Abandoned Shopping Carts

Pursuant to Section 8.35.070 of the City of Rocklin Municipal Code, every owner who allows or intends to allow the use of carts outside the building of a business shall develop and implement a specific plan to prevent customers from removing carts from the business premises. This plan shall be submitted to the City’s Director of Economic and Community Development for approval. The Abandoned Cart Prevention plan must include the following elements at a minimum.
