Rocklin Welcomes new Parks & Recreation Director
Parks & Recreation Director Veronica Tracy
The City of Rocklin has announced an important selection of Veronica Tracy as its next Parks & Recreation Director, effective April 8. This selection fills a post that has been vacant since September 2023.
Run Rocklin Course Routes
Updated course routes have been completed for the upcoming Run Rocklin race on Sunday, April 14. These routes have been designed to keep runners safe and avoid heavy traffic and construction zones.

City Council approved a proclamation recognizing April 14-20, 2024 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, honoring Safety Dispatcher’s dedication to keeping law enforcement and citizens safe.
Mayor Janda delivered the proclamation and signed it into effect.

2023 Rocklin Police Department Annual Report
Rocklin Police Chief Rustin Banks and Crime Analyst Shawn Baird formally presented the 2023 Rocklin Police Department Annual Report to City Council Tuesday night.
The 2023 report features statistics on crime, law enforcement tools, and response times in the Rocklin area and shines a light on the variety of work done by the different units and divisions of the police department.

Spring Medication Take-Back Day
Multiple agencies taking back unwanted prescription drugs
On Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Rocklin Police Department and multiple agencies across western Placer County will help the public prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted medications.

2023 Rocklin Fire Department Annual Report
Rocklin Deputy Fire Chief Reginald Williams presented the Rocklin Fire Department’s 2023 annual report to the City Council Tuesday night.
Williams outlined data on the number and type of calls to each station, response times and heat maps showing the locations of fire and emergency medical service (EMS) calls among other important trends.

Council Approves SWRA Improvements Based On Community Needs
Rocklin City Council approved of necessary improvements to the Sunset Whitney Recreation Area (SWRA) to be carried out by RSC Engineering, Inc.
The SWRA (formerly known as the Rocklin Golf Club) consists of 184 acres of land, being developed over a multi-phase Master Plan, which will add several desirable amenities to the landscape.

Rocklin Welcomes new City Attorney and City Clerk
City Attorney Matthew McOmber
Matthew McOmber was unanimously appointed to the position of Rocklin City Attorney at the January 9, 2024 City Council meeting. His official start day with the City of Rocklin was Monday, February 5.
Mr. McOmber has extensive experience in public agency law having served in the Shasta County Counsel’s Office for more than 10-years where he served in various roles including Interim County Counsel and Assistant County Counsel.
2024 Late January/Early February Winter Storm Impacts
Storm Incident Overview
An atmospheric river storm impacted much of California today, and local impacts include downed trees and extensive power outages. As of Sunday, 2230, utility providers report 55,383 customers (i.e., service connections) without power.
The National Weather Service reports that the strong wind gusts will continue through Monday morning with rain forecasted through the week.

Take The Rocklin Arts Commission’s Community Survey
The Rocklin Arts Commission is undergoing a community engagement and planning process to understand how best to meet the needs of our community and create a positive impact through the Arts. The Commission is conducting a survey to measure community engagement with different types of art in Rocklin.
By completing this survey, the Commission will be able to review the results and focus on events, services and programs that residents want to see and be a part of.

Rocklin City Council was given a special presentation regarding the Build Up Rocklin program.
In February 2022, Council approved over $3 million dollars for community support programs. These included grants for small businesses and nonprofits, mental health assistance, and the Build Up Rocklin program.
